Holiday Cheer from NYSketches

Happy Holidays from NYSketches!   For this year’s holiday card,  I created a pen & ink illustration inspired by vintage fashion advertisements.  Here’s a peak:

Corporate Party at New Venue: Carnival NYC!

NYSKetches recently provided entertainers at Carnival,  NYC – a great new venue, upstairs from Bowlmor Lanes in Union Sq.  The club is a great mix of Conely Island kitsch & carnival, set in a night club environment.   The party I worked at was a client cocktail party for an insurance company.–  the guests seemed to be really enjoying themselves (especially after a few drinks), and didn’t seem to want to leave – a sign of a great event!  Here is a pic of Andrea, a NYSketches caricaturist schmoozing with guests.   The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Some Like it Hot were looping on the flat screen tvs-  adding to the eye candy.

Wedding Thank You Note

I pretty much completed sending out my thank you notes from my own wedding, and I thought I’d share the thank you note design.  Our wedding was at a historical farm in PA.  I doctored up a vintage photo of the farm, added a floral pattern which I designed & used in the wedding invite and placed it behind the words “Thank You’.  I wanted guests to have one last memento from the wedding.

Body Crystals & Caricatures for Bloomingdales

NYSketches provided body crystal artists & caricature artists to several Bloomingdales locations around the Tri- State area to celebrate Bloomingdales Shopping Benefit- a multi charity event.  The body crystals artists were stationed in the Bloomingdales’ Private Label Aqua department of each store.  Here are some photos from the event:

I recently completed a commissioned caricature as a ‘just because’ gift for a client’s friend.  The woman in the caricature LOVES NY, has homes in NYC, NJ & FLA, loves giving gifts (see gift list), dinner parties, baking, and her home is decorated in black and white- hence the black and white caricature! Here’s a photo of the framed caricature portrait, taken in my studio (you can see my window’s reflection in the glass!):

Custom Wedding Save the Date

I just completed a caricature wedding save the date for a couple Chicago, wedding in Fla.  The couple wanted to include their alma mater- Indiana University, their hometown team- the Chicago Cubs, the location of the wedding (the Fla. beach), their two dogs, even a Chanel ba for the bride- Chanelle.

Doggie Caricatures at Dogwalk Against Cancer

This weekend, NYSketches provided two artists to draw doggie caricatures at AMNY’s sponsored booth at the Dogwalk Against Cancer at Riverside Park in NYC.  Here are some fun pics of the cute canines:

Passover Seder Event Mural

I worked on an event mural at a Passover Seder along with NYSketches artist, Elizabeth Hutchinson.  The client provided us with photos of 10 of their guests, and photos of past seders at their house so that I could get an idea of the event decor.  I painted the background and 10 faces before the party.  At the dinner party, Elizabeth painted the additional 15 faces, and guest really enjoyed seeing themselves on canvas!  After the party I completed the painting with final touches.  Here it is:
